How can teachers guide pupils to regulate their behavior, participate more actively in class, and improve their learning outcomes? Dr. Gabriel Cohen from Gordon Academic College of Education in Haifa, Israel, presented innovative answers to these questions during his visit to FAU this week.
During his lectures at FAU, students gained insight into how behavioral analysis can be transferred from high-performance environments to education. One particularly memorable example was the NASA Artemis mission: despite extremely challenging conditions, the mission succeeded because of clear behavioral structures, communication patterns, and team coordination. Dr. Cohen illustrated how similar principles can be applied in schools and teacher training today. Combining scientific expertise with an engaging and highly accessible presentation style, Dr. Cohen offered FAU students and staff a fresh perspective on contemporary teacher education and international educational research.
About the scholar
As a specialist in behavioral psychology and behavioral analysis, Dr. Cohen develops methods and practical tools for teacher education and “train-the-trainer” programs. His approach focuses on evidence-based strategies that support classroom management, student engagement, and effective learning environments. By applying concepts from behavioral psychology to educational practice, his work demonstrates how structured interventions can positively influence both teaching and learning processes.
Erasmus+ Staff Mobility
In addition to student mobility, the Erasmus+ program supports exchanges for academic and administrative staff. Its aim is to foster international cooperation, share best practices in teaching and research, and build sustainable institutional partnerships.
