Visiting Scholarship for female postdoctoral scholars
The Women’s Representative of the Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Theology at FAU invites applications for two grants for a Visiting Scholarship abroad.
Purpose of the stay:
- Promoting independent research
- Internationalization and networking of female scholars and research projects within the Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Theology
- Career advancement of women in sciences aiming for a professorship
Target Group
Female scholars at the transition to or in the postdoctoral or habilitation phase, as well as female W1 professors of the Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Theology. Female doctoral students who are at the immediate transition to the postdoctoral phase and have already submitted their dissertation are likewise eligible to apply.
Scope and Requirements
- Two scholarships for research stays abroad, with funding of up to €2,000 per month for a maximum stay of two month, plus an optional child allowance of up to €400 per month.
- The Visiting Scholarship must take place during the winter semester 2025/26.
- Only documented expenses are eligible for reimbursement (e.g., rental receipts, travel tickets). Food expenses are not reimbursable.
- A report (approx. 6 pages) on the experience must be submitted to the women’s representative no later than 6 months after the stay.
Application Process
Please submit your application to the Women’s Representative of the Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Theology, Dr. Cleophea Ferrari, and her advisor.
The following documents must be submitted:
- The application form
- Motivation letter (3–4 pages) including:
- Explanation of the planned research stay
- Description of the expected benefit for your academic development, as well as integration with your previous research (preliminary work, points of connection)
- Brief research profile
- A letter of support by the chair holder (in the case of junior professors, by a professor of the faculty whose field closely aligns with the applicant’s). The reviewers are asked to follow the checklist for the letter of support (german version).
- CV and publication list
- Letter of invitation
