As part of the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility program, the Chair of Modern and Contemporary History with a Focus on Eastern European History welcomes Prof. Dr. Pavlo Yeremieiev from V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University as a visiting scholar. The visit is hosted by Prof. Dr. Katja Makhotina. The stay focuses on academic exchange and the joint exploration of digital tools in historical research. During his visit, Prof. Yeremieiev will give a guest lecture entitled “The Religious Past of the Ukrainian Lands in the Narratives of the ‘Long’ Nineteenth Century” on, 29 April, from 6 to 8 p.m., in room 0.004 (PSG III, Kochstraße 6a, Erlangen), to which all interested are warmly invited.
The visit is significant in several respects: it strengthens existing cooperation with Karazin University, aligns with the Faculty’s and FAU’s Eastern Europe strategy and builds on the city partnership between Nuremberg and Kharkiv. Against the backdrop of the ongoing war against Ukraine, it also represents a strong sign of continued academic collaboration and solidarity with Ukrainian scholars.
