Ukrainians studying at our university and faculty are currently in an extremely difficult situation. University Management, together with the faculties, has decided that we will do everything possible to support these students.

We would like to draw your attention to the following immediate measures:

  • The Studentenwerk is offering financial and psychological support for Ukrainian FAU students. This includes money for food, options for rent deferrals for students housed in dorms, as well as counselling.

Details here: https://werkswelt.de/ukrainehilfe (German)

  • The counselling service is offering telephone counselling specifically for Ukrainian students every Wednesday from 9 to 10 AM as well as Fridays from 14 to 15PM. A group counselling session will be offered in about two weeks’ time, ideally as an in-person option. The session will be accompanied by trained psychologists. Counselling options will be expanded further if there is high demand. https://www.werkswelt.de/index.php?id=ppb&setlang=en (German)
  • Maria Schultheiß, psychotherapist with Ukrainian roots, is offering psychological support for students from Ukraine. Please contact:

  • FAU has set up a donation fund to support Ukrainian students as well as researchers, lecturers and employees of Ukrainian institutions partnered with FAU:
