The virtual XXV. Congress of the German Society for Philosophy with the title “The True, the Good and the Beautiful” will be taking place at FAU from September 5th to September 9th, 2021. Internationally renowned experts will be giving lectures about this topic as well as virtually all fields and periods of philosophy. Attendance is free, registration required.

The XXV. Congress is concerned with the True, the Good and the Beautiful, but not exclusively. As is tradition, the congress which takes place every three years at a different German university gives researchers the opportunity to talk about all philosophically interesting topics: in 36 sections, about 250 lectures will be held about practically every area and epoch of philosophy. In three forums, subject-related topics will be addressed. At the same time however, 16 colloquia are aiming to address aspects of the overarching topic and the relationships between the True, the Good and the Beautiful.

Next to the opening ceremony featuring a round table discussion about the “Future of Democracy” (Zukunft der Demokratie) and an opening address by the British philosopher Prof. Simon Blackburn (Cambridge), a philosophical photo exhibition as well as a closing lecture by Prof Dina Emundts (Berlin) round off the programme. After the official conference ends, there will be a student congress on Friday, 10th Semptember 2021.

The conference languages are German and English.
